The Political and Public-Health Fight Beneath the Recall

The larger argument here is not just about one farm. It is about whether regulators move early enough when imported food is involved, and whether critics demand proof that is too perfect for a messy outbreak setting. Officials should not wait when traceback data already shows a clear pattern.

Mexican officials pushed back and said they had found no evidence that the outbreak began in Guanajuato. That denial matters, but it does not erase the federal public-health findings.
