A Look Into Who Gets Part of Gate’s Donations to Support Girls and Women

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Melinda French Gates has announced that she plans to donate one billion dollars over the next two years to organizations that support women and girls. She will leave the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which she co-founded with her husband Bill Gates, and she will receive twelve billion dollars from Gates as part of their divorce agreement.

The donations are being made through her Pivotal Ventures group, which says that it will send two hundred million dollars to many different groups in support of women and girls. The groups that will receive part of the two hundred million for existing nonprofits are:

– Roosevelt Institute
– Collaborative for Gender + Reproductive Equity
– Ms. Foundation for Women
– National Partnership for Women & Families
– Community Change
– Institute for Women’s Policy Research
– National Women’s Law Center
– Center for Reproductive Rights
– National Domestic Workers Alliance
– Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund
– New America
– The 19th
– MomsRising Education Fund
– States United Democracy Center
– Collective Future Fund

Following this, two hundred and forty million dollars will be dispersed between these global leaders by giving them each twenty million.

– Filmmaker Ava DuVernay
– Jacinda Ardern, the Former New Zealand Prime Minister
– Leymah Roberta Gbowee a Nobel Peace Laureate
– The founder of IllumiNative, Crystal Echo Hawk
– Founding partner of Koppa: The LGBTI+ Economic Power Lab, M. V. Lee Badgett,
– Founding president of the American Institute for Boys and Men, Richard V. Reeves
– Hauwa Ojeifo, founder of She Writes Woman
– Allyson Felix, an Olympic gold medalist
– The co-founder of the School of Leadership Afghanistan, Shabana Basij-Rasikh
– Gary Barker, founder of Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice
– The co-founder and CEO of Kidogo, Sabrina Habib

Lastly, there will be two hundred and fifty million dollars awarded to organizations that are working to improve women’s mental and physical health.
