(TheConservativeTimes.org) – A shocking chemical spill at a New Mexico cheese factory has left 20 hardworking Americans injured and two in critical condition.
On a seemingly ordinary workday, emergency responders rushed to Southwest Cheese, located 8 miles south of Clovis, after receiving reports of a chemical spill.
The incident quickly escalated into a full-blown crisis as toxic gas spread through the facility.
According to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, the disaster was triggered by an equipment malfunction that improperly mixed 8.67 gallons of acid with 0.61 gallons of chlorine.
This deadly combination produced a dangerous gas that endangered the lives of everyone nearby.
The consequences were severe. Twenty employees fell victim to the toxic fumes and 14 required immediate hospitalization.
Two workers were reported to be in critical condition, fighting for their lives due to this harrowing accident.
The injured were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and Roosevelt General Hospital for urgent treatment.

The Clovis Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Response Team was deployed to the scene.
They worked alongside the New Mexico State Police to neutralize the threat and prevent further harm to workers and nearby residents.
Officials quickly assured the public that the leak had been contained and that the surrounding area was not in immediate danger.
