(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Fox News just lost a beloved contributor as medical expert Dr. Kelly Powers has passed away at the age of 45 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Dr. Powers was born in Yonkers, New York, and was a respected figure in conservative media circles. Her death has been described as a devastating loss for the medical community.

She was known for her ongoing appearances on Fox News shows like Red Eye and Fox & Friends.

She even suffered a heart failure on live TV during a segment on heart health in 2018.

“It’s crazy – I went into heart failure while doing a report on Fox Business – live – on heart health and talking about the subtle signs that women often miss. You can’t make this up,” Dr. Powers said to Preferred Health Magazine.

She brought her medical expertise to millions of viewers, offering insights on health issues that resonated with everyday Americans.

Throughout her battle with cancer, Dr. Powers showed remarkable strength and resilience.

Diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2020, she underwent multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Dr. Powers experienced a brief period of remission in 2021, but the aggressive cancer returned in 2023.

Despite the challenges, Dr. Powers continued to fight, even seeking new treatments in Germany when conventional options were exhausted.

Both tragedy and triumph marked Dr. Powers’ journey. In a testament to her spirit, she learned she was expecting a child via surrogate just before undergoing brain surgery.

“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere she went. Kelly had a love for people and she was dedicated to helping others,” her obituary read.

Several people have rallied around Dr. Powers’ family in their time of need. When her cancer returned and insurance refused to cover an experimental treatment, friends raised nearly $100,000 to support her fight.
