Biden Energy Mandates POSTPONED – Major Change!

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Victory for American consumers! President Donald Trump’s Department of Energy (DOE) has postponed three Biden-era energy efficiency mandates for home appliances.

The delayed mandates targeted walk-in coolers and freezers, gas-powered instantaneous water heaters, and testing procedures for central air conditioners and heat pumps.

Finalized during late 2024 and January 2025, these regulations represented yet another attempt by the Biden administration to force its climate agenda onto American households and businesses.

Secretary Wright made it clear that the Trump administration is prioritizing consumer choice over government control.

He stated:

“By removing burdensome regulations put in place by the Biden administration, we are returning freedom of choice to the American people, ensuring consumers can choose the home appliances that work best for their lives and budgets. This power should not belong to the federal government.”

The delay marks a significant shift away from the heavy-handed approach of the previous administration, which sought to dictate every aspect of Americans’ lives, right down to the appliances in their homes.

While the DOE is pausing implementation, congressional Republicans are not waiting.

They are using the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn these burdensome regulations permanently.

The CRA gives lawmakers a powerful tool to cancel regulations with a simple majority vote in both chambers, effectively bypassing any attempts at a filibuster by Democrats.

Representatives Stephanie Bice (R-OK) and Craig Goldman (R-TX) are leading the charge in the House by sponsoring legislation to overturn these standards permanently.

Their efforts highlight the growing Republican pushback against the Biden administration’s attempt to use climate policy as a vehicle for controlling Americans’ choices and driving up costs for families and small businesses.

The regulations would have forced manufacturers to redesign products to meet arbitrary government standards, resulting in higher prices for consumers.

For small business owners who rely on walk-in coolers and freezers, these additional costs could have been devastating in an already challenging economic environment.

This move by the DOE is just the latest example of the Trump administration’s commitment to rolling back excessive regulations that stifle economic growth and restrict personal freedoms.

While leftists continue to push their radical climate agenda regardless of the cost to working Americans, the current administration is standing firm on the principle that the government should serve the people, not dictate their choices.

The delay of these energy mandates represents a win for American consumers tired of Washington elites deciding for them.

As Secretary Wright emphasized, these decisions should be made by individuals based on what works for their lives and budgets, not by unelected bureaucrats pushing a woke environmental agenda at the expense of affordability and personal liberty.
