(TheConservativeTimes.org) – President Joe Biden made yet another comment mocking the Second Amendment at a fundraising event at a private California residence on Tuesday, June 20.
The event was aimed at the discussion of gun control measures. The president repeatedly stressed that Americans do not need AR-15s and that banning such weapons would not violate the Second Amendment. In addition, he once again claimed citizens would need fighter jets to fight the federal government should it turn against them.
The AR-15 is a common target for Democratic politicians seeking stricter gun control measures in the wake of mass shootings that continue to happen across the U.S. One such incident was the Uvalde shooting, in which a teenage gunman massacred 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Biden made a handful of snide remarks at the fundraising events, aiming at Second Amendment supporters who believe having semi-automatic weapons enables them to fight against a potentially tyrannical government. The president dismissed these beliefs, saying that “you need something else than just an AR-15,” to take on the federal government.
The president also said people are motivated to buy and sell AR-15s due to their high-profit margins, saying that the AR-15 makes more money “than any other weapon you can buy.”
It wouldn’t be the first time Biden has made such comments. On June 23, 2021, the president delivered an entire speech dedicated to gun violence prevention, saying that you “need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons” to take on the federal government, should it ever be turned against its own citizenry.
Biden also made similar comments when he delivered remarks at the National Action Network’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast in Washington, D.C., in January 2023, again swiping at those on the right, insisting that one would need “some F-15s” to take on the federal government in direct combat.
In addition to snarky remarks directed toward Republicans, the news also comes in the wake of Biden’s track record of false claims about the Second Amendment, such as when he falsely stated that one needed a license to own a cannon in 1791.
