Biden Meets With National Security Over Concern of Attack From Iran

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to meet in the Situation Room with his national security team to discuss an anticipatory attack on Israel from Iran. Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin III emphasized America’s support of Israel as this conflict with Iran continues to intensify.

Austin and Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant have discussed the next steps for U.S. forces that the Defense Department will be taking to help Israel de-escalate the situation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel and Iran have already been participating in a “multi-front war.” Tensions have continued to rise after last week’s killing of a Hezbollah commander in Lebanon and the assassination of Hamas’ top political leader in Iran. Netanyahu said that Israel is ready for anything and that Jordan’s foreign minister would make a trip to Iran to try to de-escalate the situation.

Preparations for the anticipated attack are being planned by the head of the U.S. Central Command, Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, who is expected to travel to Israel.

Said Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the IDF, “For years, Iran has been arming and financing terrorist organizations across the Middle East, including smuggling explosives into Israeli territory for terror attacks against civilians.”

Combat between Hezbollah and Israel has continued, with the border of Lebanon being a hot spot for both groups to trade fire since the start of the war. The rising tensions have put pressure on many officials from both sides to push for a cease-fire or de-escalation. Officials have continued to show support while they hope for an end to the conflict.
