(TheConservativeTimes.org) – President Joe Biden recently criticized former President Donald Trump’s claims regarding his hush money trial verdict. Trump claimed the verdict was the result of a biased legal system and that the case shouldn’t have been held in that location with that judge.
Although Biden has abstained from commenting on Trump’s trial, he recently broke his silence, stating that Trump’s claims are “dangerous” and “reckless.” Biden said that the jury was selected “the same way every jury in America is chosen,” that Trump had “every opportunity to defend himself,” and that “the American principle that no one is above the law was reaffirmed.”
“It’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don’t like the verdict. Our justice system has endured for nearly 250 years, and it literally is the cornerstone of America,” he said.
Biden hasn’t been one to speak about Trump’s legal drama, however, as the trial continued, Biden’s campaign aides were known to get involved. They had released statements poking fun at Trump and had even shown up to his Manhattan trial this week accompanied by actor Robert De Niro.
Dan Pfeiffer, who served as communications director in the Obama White House, said, “I believe Trump’s conviction for election interference-related crimes fits very nicely into the story that the president wants to tell about how Trump is a danger to democracy.”
Whether or not the verdict will help or hurt the former president remains to be seen, but it could be monumental enough to change someone’s vote. Following the verdict, the Biden administration emailed supporters stressing their need for donations, stating that, despite Donald Trump’s felony conviction, he would still be the Republican nominee for President.
