BREAKING NEWS ALERT: A brutal attack has left an entire community in shock after eight Americans peacefully advocating for Israeli hostages held by Hamas terrorists were viciously attacked with firebombs in Boulder, Colorado.
The FBI has confirmed the incident was a “targeted terror attack” against pro-Israel demonstrators.
The attack occurred during a weekly “Run for Their Lives” demonstration at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder.
The group has been holding these events since Thanksgiving 2023 to raise awareness about hostages still being held by Hamas following their October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
FBI Director Kash Patel quickly addressed the incident, confirming the nature of the assault.
“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available,” Patel stated.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino reinforced the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We are investigating this incident as an act of terror and targeted violence.”
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, is in custody but has not yet been charged with federal crimes despite the clear terroristic nature of the attack.
Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn described the horrific scene: “When we arrived, we encountered multiple victims…with injuries consistent with burns.”
Witnesses reported chaotic scenes as the suspect threw bottles containing flammable liquid that exploded upon impact.
Multiple victims required hospitalization, with at least eight people injured. Brooke Coffman, who witnessed the attack, described women suffering severe burns while bystanders rushed to help them.
Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser suggested the attack appeared to be a hate crime. Additionally, Governor Jared Polis issued a statement condemning “hate-filled acts.”
The group targeted in the attack advocates for the release of hostages taken during Hamas’ brutal October 7 invasion, with approximately 23 hostages believed to still be alive in captivity.
These peaceful demonstrators have held weekly events for over a year and a half, simply asking for the return of innocent civilians kidnapped by terrorists.
Federal prosecutors are currently reviewing the incident to determine appropriate charges. As of now, some officials have mentioned possible “mental health issues” with the suspect.
This attack comes amid rising anti-Semitism across American college campuses and cities.
Boulder Jewish organizations have released a joint statement calling for unity following the attack.
Meanwhile, millions of Americans continue to wonder why supporting Israel and opposing terrorism has become so controversial in today’s landscape.
