Budweiser Faces Criticism Over 4th Of July Message

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Bud Light’s controversial endorsement of transgender TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who claims to be a woman, continues to follow the brand. Budweiser, the beer brand’s parent company, received backlash over its recent July 4 advertisement.

The 30-second advertisement features a voiceover by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot, promoting a partnership between Budweiser and Fold of Honor, Rooney’s educational scholarship program.

People quickly criticized the advertisement, accusing the company of using the memory of dead soldiers to save its image amid the controversy that saw its sales fall 29% compared with last year. After being the top-selling beer brand in America for over two decades, Modelo Especial, a Mexican-based brand, has taken the top spot.

Many users commented on the tweet, saying that the company was “finished,” or that it was “too late” to make a comeback. Others insisted that the company should apologize, with one user saying they don’t understand why Budweiser doesn’t just “come forward and make it right!”

The advertisement was also posted on YouTube, receiving a similar level of backlash bashing the company.

The news also comes amid recent reports of Bud Light being sold for less than water in some cases, with one Pennsylvania store seeing its customer base completely disregard the beer in protest, according to the New York Times.

Budweiser has been traditionally known to have a relatively conservative customer base, which is widely believed to have felt betrayed when it promoted Mulvaney.

The boycotting of the company is also part of a larger discussion regarding transgender ideology, as well as the LGBTQ+ movement as a whole, and whether it should be culturally acceptable to regard gender as a “social construct,” where people can simply “transition” in and out of genders.
