Cash App Customers Claim $2,500 in New Settlement

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Cash App customers would be able to claim twenty five hundred dollars each as part of a fifteen million dollar settlement due to data and security breaches.

People whose accounts were accessed without their authorization or who had fraudulent withdrawals or transfers can file claims as long as they had a cash app account between August 2018 and August 2024, according to the settlement. The settlement came after lawsuits were filed by customers claiming that Cash App was negligent when an unauthorized user accessed accounts.

They stated that the company failed to install controls or block unauthorized users and the company also mishandled customer complaints. Cash App, and their parent company Block, deny any wrongdoing of any kind, according to the settlement.

Customers can file a Cash App claim through the website and you’ll need to enter a notice ID and confirmation code from a mailed or emailed notice. You can still file a claim even if you haven’t received a notice. The cut off date for filing a claim is November 18.

The settlement amount is supposed to be around twenty five hundred dollars per person, but this number could change depending on how many total people file claims. People who do file a claim must have third party proof or documentation to back up their claims.

Customers are also allowed to claim twenty five dollars per hour for up to three hours of lost time. Users can file a claim to get reimbursed for transactional losses as well, which will also need documentation of proof. If the settlement cannot pay every approved claim, then the payments will be made on a reduced pro rate basis.
