Conservatives Agree – Abolish It Now!

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Conservatives across the nation are cheering President Donald Trump’s latest move, which is expected to end the infiltration of the woke ideology into society.

Specifically, the president is preparing to sign an executive order to abolish the Department of Education, fulfilling a key campaign promise to return control to states and parents.

This action follows President Trump’s previous criticism of schools teaching “critical race theory, gender ideology or other inappropriate racial, sexual or political content onto our children.”

Reports reveal that a draft order entitled “Eliminating the Department of Education” is already circulating.

It signals the administration’s determination to dismantle what many conservatives have long viewed as a failed federal experiment in education control.

According to a leaked memo, Education Department staff are being notified about the impending executive order.

The document outlines plans to reassign the department’s functions to other federal agencies while significantly reducing federal influence over America’s classrooms.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon appears ready to execute what President Trump described as her mission to “put herself out of a job.”

In internal communications, McMahon acknowledged her role in this historic shift, stating:

“Our job is to respect the will of the American people and the President they elected, who has tasked us with accomplishing the elimination of bureaucratic bloat here at the Department of Education – a momentous final mission – quickly and responsibly.”

The draft executive order does not mince words about the failures of federal education control.

It states plainly: “The experiment of controlling American education through Federal programs and dollars—and the unaccountable bureaucrats those programs and dollars support—has failed our children, our teachers, and our families.”

The administration’s move comes as American education continues to falter internationally.

The U.S. currently ranks just 20th in education among 41 developed nations, and student test scores have shown concerning declines following the COVID-19 pandemic.

This poor performance has reinforced President Trump’s argument that the federal education bureaucracy has failed despite billions in taxpayer funding.

While the executive order represents a bold step, legal experts note that completely eliminating the department requires congressional approval.

The president cannot unilaterally dissolve a cabinet-level agency established by Congress.

This reality means the executive action will likely focus on dramatically reducing the department’s role and influence while building momentum for legislative action.

Key educational programs like Title I funding, Pell Grants, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness will continue, likely managed by other federal agencies.

McMahon has also indicated she is prepared to enforce executive actions on hot-button issues like transgender athletes in women’s sports and DEI programs in schools.

Predictably, congressional Democrats have attacked the plan, claiming it would harm public schools and only benefit wealthy Americans.

However, supporters counter that eliminating federal bureaucracy will address overreach and wasteful spending while empowering parents and local communities to decide about their children’s education.

This move fulfills one of the president’s most consistent promises dating back to his first campaign.

During his second presidential run, President Trump repeatedly pledged to “send education back to the states.”

Conservative icons like Ronald Reagan have shared this position, seeking to eliminate the department after its creation under President Jimmy Carter in 1979.
