Crowdstrike Says They Aren’t to Blame for Delta Cancellations After Outage

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Crowdstrike recently stated that Delta Airlines had rejected onsite help that was being given to them during the massive outage that led to the delay and cancellation of thousands of flights.

Delta Airlines was just one of the many companies that experienced outages following the CrowdStrike software update issue. Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastsain, said that the outages cost the company about five hundred million dollars due to flight delays and cancellations. He continued to say that the company has no choice but to “seek damages.”

Bastian told staff that they were “planning to pursue legal claims” to recover the losses that they experienced from the outage. He even continued to say that they hired Boies Schiller Flexner law firm to represent them.

Michael Carlinsky, CrowdStrike lawyer and co-managing partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, wrote to Delta’s CEO in response. They said that these litigation threats “contributed to a misleading narrative that CrowdStrike is responsible for Delta’s IT decisions and response to the outage.”

He continued to say that the Crowdstrike CEO had reached out to Bastian to offer onsite assistance but that they didn’t receive a response. Delta ended up canceling more than five thousand flights during the outage time.

Experts and officials have said that Delta would need to present its case with extreme details to describe the information and the timeline of events, if they try to pursue this case. Bastian said that they did everything they could for their customers during that time frame and continued to say that you “can’t come into a mission critical 24/7 operation and tell us we have a bug. It doesn’t work.”
