(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Democrats have been focused on pushing back against the famous Project 2025 idea presented by many Republicans that shows many similarities to Trump’s policies.
Democrats spoke out against the Project at the recent Democratic National Convention while lambasting the Republican nominee, Donald Trump. The main issue that was touched on in the Project 2025 manifesto is dismantling the Department of Education.
Despite Donald Trump distancing himself from this Project, the ideologies align in many ways with Trump’s Agenda 47 Platform. President Joe Biden slammed the Republican vision for education in his speech at the Democratic National Convention, as well as other policies that don’t align with the Democratic vision.
Said Biden, “Donald Trump, and his Republican friends, not only can’t think, they can’t read very well.” He continued, “Seriously, think about it. Look at their Project 2025. They want to do away with the Department of Education.”
Michelle Obama also touched on this subject in her speech by saying, “Shutting down the Department of Education, banning our books — none of that will prepare our kids for the future.”
In his discussion with Elon Musk on X, Donald Trump discussed his plan to dismantle the Department of Education, saying, “I want to close up the Department of Education and move education back to the states.”
The United States is not ranked last in education, but they are not as high as they were prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the inadequacy of virtual learning, there was a lot of learning loss during the pandemic that led the United States into a downward spiral.
Trump’s plans for the Department of Education aren’t exactly detailed as many are unsure if his plans are to defund the agency and close it altogether or to defund the agency and move funding to the states instead.
Regardless, there has been major pushback on his plans in the Project, especially concerning the Department of Education.
