(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Donald Trump has agreed to debate with Kamala Harris, but they are having trouble agreeing on what platform or channel to debate on. Trump has stated that he would agree to debate on FOX News but Kamala Harris has pushed back and states that she’d rather debate on ABC.
Trump originally agreed to debate Joe Biden in a second debate on ABC News. Trump originally said that there was a conflict of interest after filing a defamation lawsuit against ABC over their anchor’s assertion that Trump was “found liable of rape” in the E Jean Carroll case.
“The Debate was previously scheduled against … Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump has said that they haven’t fully agreed on the debate being on Fox News and that the moderators would be Bret Baier and Martha MacCullum. He also said that the rules would be similar to his previous debate with Joe Biden, but this time there would be a studio audience.
Harris’ campaign tried making it clear that she did not agree to the terms of the Fox News debate and stated that she’d like to replace it with an ABC News debate.
Michael Tyler, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, said, “Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out.”
Kamala Harris has said multiple times in her campaigning that she is ready to take on former president Donald Trump in a debate.
