Elon Musk Plans to Use China’s Data to Power Tesla’s AI Ambitions

Elon Musk Planning to Use China Data in Tesla’s AI

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Elon Musk is pushing to power the self-driving system with data from China. Those who know the details of the work have said that Elon Musk is “strategic” with his plan. According to two employees who know the details of the project, Tesla has plans to develop a data center in China to train the algorithm to produce more fully autonomous vehicles.

Tesla originally was planning to get approval from Chinese regulators on a data transfer that would be done, but it is not known if Tesla will be entertaining both a data transfer and a data center. They are pushing to use data for artificial intelligence but the United States has been trying to stop U.S. transfers of AI technology to China.

The full version of a full self-driving system costs about nine thousand dollars and having a larger market for FSD in China would help revenue and profits for Tesla. If they decide to set up a center in China, then they’d need to work with a Chinese partner.

Allegedly, Tesla was talking with Nvidia about working together to get graphic processing units for the data center in China.

Musk met with Premier Li Qiang in Beijing last month to push their campaign for Tesla. They spoke of a data transfer and the potential of Tesla investing in a data center. They also spoke of Tesla licensing their systems to Chinese EV makers, establishing a business partnership between them.
