(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Even CNN, the major American news network notorious for skewing its coverage in favor of those on the left side of the political aisle, has seemingly admitted that the whistleblowers in Hunter Biden’s indictment were correct all along.
The commotion stems from CNN legal analyst Elie Honig, who said recently that the conduct of the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) gives the whistleblowers’ claims credibility.
After a plea deal with Hunter Biden on charges related to tax fraud suddenly fell through, the DOJ has now seemingly reversed course, with the president’s son now widely expected to be indicted on a federal gun charge by Special Counsel David Weiss.
On CNN’s “Inside Politics,” Honig told anchor Dana Bash that he found the DOJ’s conduct puzzling. He said further that the DOJ’s sudden reversal is a sign that the whistleblowers were right, and that prosecutors were willing to slap Hunter on the wrist with a plea deal that came with no jail time. However, once people began to draw comparisons between the treatment of the president’s son and former President Donald Trump with his alleged crimes, the political pressure was turned up a notch.
This, according to Honig, prompted the DOJ to reverse course and assign a special counsel to indict Hunter on a felony gun charge, potentially landing him in jail if he is convicted. The whistleblowers in question have accused federal prosecutors of “trying to limit” questioning pertaining to President Biden as part of the investigation into Hunter, and that such decisions were influenced by politics.
The news comes as former President Trump continues to fight a multi-front legal war, as he is currently charged with crimes in four different indictments. Two of those indictments come from the DOJ and pertain to Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents, as well as his alleged unlawful interference in the 2020 presidential election.
The other two are from two different jurisdictions. One from Manhattan, New York, where he is charged with falsifying business records, and another from Fulton County, Georgia, where he is accused of trying to unlawfully overturn the 2020 election results in that state.
