(TheConservativeTimes.org) – A shocking scandal has rocked the FBI after an anti-Trump agent was caught red-handed leaking classified intelligence.
15-year bureau veteran Johnathan Buma, who spent years criticizing President Donald Trump, was arrested at JFK Airport with around 130 classified FBI files intended for his tell-all book.
Buma, who criticized the FBI during Trump’s administration, was taken into custody while attempting to board an international flight.
The agent now faces charges for sharing confidential FBI documents to write a book that allegedly contained sensitive information about a foreign country’s weapons of mass destruction program.
Federal authorities claim Buma printed around 130 classified FBI files and even shared excerpts containing confidential information on social media.
The rogue agent allegedly distributed these documents to associates to help with his book despite clear markings warning that the information needed protection.
What makes this case particularly outrageous is the timing and apparent hypocrisy.
The investigation into Buma began during the Biden administration, with a raid on his home in late 2023.
Still, the same Justice Department that aggressively pursued President Trump for document disputes waited until now to arrest their own leaker.
Buma previously complained that the FBI shut him down when he raised concerns about Rudy Giuliani’s potential compromise in a Russian operation.
He claimed the bureau became “very interested” when he offered information on Hunter Biden’s dealings with Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
Buma positioned himself as a whistleblower, filing a complaint in January 2022 alleging “numerous acts of intelligence suppression” within the bureau.
His attorney, Scott Horton, denies any wrongdoing and claims no classified information was found during the raid on Buma’s residence.
While claiming to expose political bias within the FBI, Buma appears to have been operating with his own agenda.
He shared classified intelligence with uncleared “partners” to help with his book and admitted to being at his “wits’ end” with the bureau.
Following his arrest, Buma was released on a $100,000 bond after being charged with one misdemeanor count of disclosing confidential information.
The charges against Buma were filed in the Central District of California, and he has not yet entered a plea.
This case represents another example of the weaponization of intelligence agencies against President Trump while allowing anti-Trump leakers to operate freely within the system for years before finally facing consequences.
