(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Vice President and Democrat nominee Kamala Harris has plans to announce new campaign proposals at the Economic Club of Pittsburgh that would focus on boosting United States manufacturing.
These proposals are part of a broader effort to portray Harris as a partner and not an antagonist to the business community. The address will outline a “pragmatic” economic philosophy that is rooted in capitalism, innovation, and understanding the government’s limitations.
She is attempting to present her openness to the private sector as she continues to focus on the middle working class as this has been the main focal point of her economic policies and proposals. The speech will be a response to the attacks from her opponent, Republican candidate Donald Trump, as he’s referred to her as “Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate” and a threat to the economy.
Trump warned, “If Kamala Harris gets four more years, she will deindustrialize the United States and destroy our country.”
A campaign spokesperson said that Kamala Harris will focus on her time in politics and her middle-class upbringing to help highlight her efforts. She’ll point out her two terms as California Attorney General and will draw on her work as Vice President as well.
Harris has been focused on lowering the cost of food, housing, and child care while accusing corporate America of “price gouging.” She even went as far as proposing a federal ban on price gouging in the food sector.
She’s taken a step back from pushing on corporate America and even stated recently that price gouging is an issue, but not all corporations partake in it. Said Harris, “Some corporations, and it’s very few of them that do this, but they jack up prices to make it more difficult for desperate people to just get by.”
The campaign spokesperson also said that Harris would make it clear she is “unafraid to hold bad actors accountable if she needs to.”
With the election coming up fast, there’s more pressure for candidates to line up their proposals and policies on certain topics to help voters make their decisions.
