Michelle Obama Absent – What Happened?

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Raising both eyebrows and questions, Michelle Obama was remarkably absent from former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral.

The National Cathedral in Washington D.C. hosted Carter’s state funeral. While political leaders from across the spectrum gathered to pay their respects, Michelle’s empty seat stood out.

All five living presidents and their spouses were in attendance, including President-elect Donald and Melania Trump. Still, Barack Obama arrived alone.

The official explanation for Michelle’s absence came from her spokesperson Crystal Carson.

Carson stated:

“Former First Lady Michelle Obama is not in attendance at President Carter’s National Funeral Service. Mrs. Obama sends her thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from the remarkable former President.”

However, this explanation has left many questioning the true reasons behind her absence.

Some wonder if this is another example of the left’s disregard and disrespect for the nation’s former leaders.

Some others question whether there is more to the story that the mainstream media is not telling.

Journalist Jeff Zeleny offered some insight into the situation, stating, “I’m told by her advisors that she has scheduling conflicts.” He further added, “She’s still in Hawaii.”

Many Americans find it troubling that a former First Lady would prioritize a Hawaiian vacation over attending the state funeral of a former president.

It raises questions about the Obama family’s commitment to honoring the nation’s history and institutions.

Interestingly, Michelle’s absence meant that she avoided what could have been an awkward seating arrangement.

Her husband Barack Obama was seated next to the Trump couple during the service.

Given the well-known tensions between the Obamas and the Trumps, some speculate that this could have played a role in her decision to stay away.

The funeral also provided a moment of unity among former presidents, as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were seen speaking with Donald Trump.

As Americans look ahead, questions remain about Michelle’s future appearances at significant national events.

With Trump’s second inauguration scheduled for January 20, many are wondering if the former First Lady will once again be absent.
