(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama launched a new podcast with her brother, Craig Robinson, expanding the Obamas’ media empire and their ongoing influence in American culture.
See the tweet below.
This latest venture, “IMO,” signals yet another platform for the former First Lady to shape public discourse while the Obamas continue building their post-White House media portfolio.
Higher Ground, the media company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama, announced the launch of “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson.”
The podcast will debut with two episodes on March 12 and a special live recording at the SXSW festival in Austin on March 13.
The title “IMO” suggests an informal, opinion-based format that aligns with social media shorthand for “in my opinion.”
“With everything going on in the world, we’re all looking for answers and people to turn to,” Michelle said.
“My brother Craig and I launched the IMOpodcast to create a space for people to come as they are, ask honest questions, give their opinions, and have thoughtful conversations about life,” she added.
The podcast represents the latest addition to Michelle Obama’s growing media presence since leaving the White House.
Previously, she hosted “The Michelle Obama Podcast” on Spotify and “Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast” on Audible, establishing herself as a prominent voice in the podcasting world while maintaining her political and cultural influence.
According to promotional materials, the podcast will focus on “everyday questions that shape lives and relationships.”
Episodes will tackle topics including adult friendships, marriage connections, balancing personal and professional life, caring for aging parents, and the controversial impact of technology on childhood development.
Each episode will feature high-profile guests, including Hollywood celebrities and political figures.
Moreover, the first two episodes include an introductory conversation between the Obama siblings and an episode featuring actress Issa Rae discussing adult friendships.
Future episodes will welcome an array of liberal-friendly celebrities, including Tyler Perry, Keke Palmer, Tracee Ellis Ross, Seth and Lauren Rogen, and numerous others who typically align with progressive causes and Democrat politics.
Analysts question whether this podcast will truly provide balanced perspectives on important issues or if it will serve as another platform for the Obamas to promote their political viewpoints to American audiences.
While marketed as conversations about everyday life challenges, many conservatives have noted that the Obamas’ previous media ventures have consistently advanced progressive messaging.
The podcast will be widely available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify, maximizing its reach across multiple platforms.
This distribution strategy ensures the Obamas maintain their cultural influence, particularly with younger audiences who consume most of their content through digital channels.
Higher Ground continues to expand its media presence with multiple podcast projects and a first-look deal with Netflix for film and television productions.
The company’s growing portfolio demonstrates how the Obamas have leveraged their political prominence into a powerful media enterprise that keeps them in the public eye while advancing their preferred narratives on American culture, politics, and society.
