(TheConservativeTimes.org) – In a dire warning about escalating global tensions, Ukraine’s former military chief has alerted that World War Three may have already begun.
Now serving as Ukraine’s envoy to the U.K., former military chief Valery Zaluzhny made these revelations during the UP100 award ceremony in Kyiv.
Zaluzhny stated, “I believe that in 2024 we can absolutely believe that the Third World War has begun.”
He highlighted how 10,000 North Korean soldiers are fighting alongside Russians in an alliance of hostile countries against Western nations.
This development has sparked international anxiety over potential escalations in the region.
As Russia strengthens ties with North Korea, Iran and China, concerns grow over the impact on international stability.
Recent reports about North Korean troops helping Russia in the Kursk region in Ukraine only make these fears worse.
Adding to these tensions, Iran has provided Russia with thousands of Shahed attack drones.
These drones have been used to hit both civilian and military targets, causing wide-scale destruction.
In the course of the war, over 8,000 Iran-developed drones have been deployed, further complicating the battlefield dynamic.
Meanwhile, Moscow’s ambassador to the U.K. claims that Britain is “directly involved” in the conflict after Ukraine deployed British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles against Russian targets.
Ukraine has also used these British weapons to push back Russian forces after the United States authorized the use of its ATACMS missiles.
Zaluzhny’s concerns also include being removed as Ukraine’s military leader in February amid internal tensions with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Once credited with stopping Russia’s invasion in 2022, Zaluzhny has faced criticism over the perceived failure of a counterattack last year.
British and European leaders were quick to condemn Russia’s recent hypersonic missile strike on Dnipro, seen as a significant escalation.
The ‘Oreshnik’ missile allegedly reaches speeds ten times the speed of sound and can target most of Europe and even parts of the U.S. West Coast.
