Missiles Fired Into the Sea As North Korea Performs Second Test This Year

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – On Wednesday multiple cruise missiles were fired by North Korea into the Western coast, according to South Korea. The United States and the South Korean military are both looking into these launches with full investigations.

Officials from South Korea stated, “Our military has increased surveillance and vigilance and is closely coordinating with the United States while monitoring for further signs and activity from North Korea.”

For this year this is the second launch event performed by North Korea that we know of. The first one was on January 1 where they sent off solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Cruise missiles are weapons that North Korea said they were continuing to test over the course of this year. Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s leader, has been issuing multiple threats to the U.S. and its allies.

Tensions between North Korea and its enemies, which include South Korea, Japan, and the United States, have been high as Kim Jung Un continues with threats towards them. Kim Jong Un also stated recently that they would no longer be looking to work towards peace between North Korea and South Korea.

He said that South Korea should be named the biggest enemy of North Korea and that they wouldn’t be continuing their relationship to try and mesh communities. With this said, on Tuesday South Korea said that they analyzed images that showed North Korea tore down an archway that was a symbol of reconciliation between the two Koreas. The arch stood about 100 feet tall and was in the capital of Pyongyang. Just last week Kim Jong Un stated that the archway was an “eyesore” and asked for it to be removed.

The concern continues with North Korea as they continue nuclear testing; their long-range cruise missiles are nuclear-capable and have long-range capabilities of up to 2,000 kilometers. This can be a huge concern for many nations across the world, especially South Korea, Japan, and the United States, especially since North Korean missiles have already been said to be able to target Japan and United States military bases.
