Nancy Pelosi Refers To Trump Indictments As “Heartbreaking”

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) recently called former President Donald Trump’s third criminal indictment by the Biden administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) “heartbreaking” on CNN’s “The Lead With Jake Tapper” on Wednesday, August 2.

In what seemed to be a charade of crocodile tears to elicit a fake aura of bipartisanship, Pelosi said it is heartbreaking to see a former American president indicted for so many crimes.

The news comes as former President Donald Trump was recently indicted for the third time, yet again, by DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith. This time Trump is being slapped with four charges related to his conduct during the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Among the charges is the accusation that Trump was engaged in a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election and defraud the country.

Pelosi praised the Jan. 6 panel for gathering enough evidence to indict the former president, drawing similarities between the charges they recommended and the ones handed down by the Department of Justice. “I’m so proud of them,” Pelosi said.

Smith’s latest charges are the latest in an ever-mounting array of legal challenges against Trump. Back in April, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced a 34-count felony indictment of the former president related to the falsification of business records. This offense would normally be a misdemeanor.

In June, the former president was indicted again, this time by the DOJ, for felony charges related to the mishandling of classified documents. Specifically, Trump is accused of illegally withholding classified government documents in his Mar-a-Lago, Florida residence. Additional charges were recently added to the indictment accusing the former president of conspiring with Mar-a-Lago staffers to delete security footage sought by federal investigators after it was subpoenaed. Trump has vehemently denied all the allegations.

Trump also faces a possible criminal indictment from Fulton County, Georgia, due to allegations that he attempted to pressure Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to overturn the 2020 election results in that state after President Joe Biden won narrowly there.
