NEW Law – Gun Sales BANNED?!

Colorado Democrats have launched an all-out assault on the Second Amendment as Governor Jared Polis signed one of the nation’s most restrictive gun control measures into law.

Specifically, Senate Bill 3 creates a de facto gun registry and imposes burdensome requirements on law-abiding citizens.

Polis signed legislation requiring permits and mandatory safety training for Coloradans who wish to purchase semiautomatic firearms with detachable magazines.

The law, which takes effect August 1, 2026, represents one of the most severe infringements on Second Amendment rights in the nation/

It also creates new hurdles for Americans merely trying to exercise their constitutional rights.

The restrictive measure forces citizens to obtain a “firearms safety course eligibility card” from their county sheriff’s office and complete up to 12 hours of mandatory training before purchasing certain semiautomatic firearms.

Even more concerning, sheriffs have been granted broad discretion to deny permits to otherwise law-abiding citizens, which could lead to politically motivated denials in Democrat-controlled counties.

Additionally, the legislation includes a complete ban on rapid-fire conversion devices, such as bump stocks and binary triggers.

This comes even though the U.S. Supreme Court previously overturned a federal bump stock ban.

The harsh penalties include Class 2 misdemeanor charges for first-time violations, with repeat offenders facing Class 6 felony charges.

Second Amendment advocates are not taking this assault on their rights lying down.

The Colorado State Shooting Association (CSSA) has already announced plans to file a lawsuit against the unconstitutional law.

CSSA executive director Huey Laugesen stated, “Polis might think he’s scoring points with the anti-gun crowd, but as far as we’re concerned, he has just handed us a rallying cry. This fight is far from over, and we’re playing for keeps.”

“We will work tirelessly to replace the bill’s supporters with pro-Second Amendment leaders. Starting with the most electorally vulnerable legislators, we will ensure that Coloradans’ voices are heard at the ballot box. This fight is far from over,” he added.

“We’re not going to let this law stand, whether it’s through litigation or whether we kick these bastards out and we replace them with people who will repeal it,” said Rocky Mountain Gun Owners executive director Ian Escalante.

The new law does not immediately affect firearms already owned by Colorado residents, but it creates what many see as a registry of gun owners.

While proponents claim the measure is about “safety,” the real agenda appears to be tracking and eventually restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Local governments are also resisting the measure. The Board of County Commissioners of Rio Blanco County has formally opposed it, citing its negative impact on their local economy and outdoor recreation industry.

This law represents just the latest in a series of anti-gun measures from Colorado Democrats, including mandatory waiting periods, raising the age limit for purchasing firearms, and new storage requirements.
