NOW: Bomb Threats Impacting Airlines

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Exposing alarming security vulnerabilities and causing chaos for those traveling abroad, a wave of bomb threats has swept through Indian aviation.

Over 410 flights have been targeted in just 15 days, leaving passengers stranded and airlines reeling.

Accounts with disturbing names like “Adam Lanza Mass Shooter” have targeted multiple Indian carriers, including Air India and IndiGo, with threats that spread like wildfire on social media.

“It was learned around 2.45 pm that messages were posted on X handle ‘I wanna slit your throat’ that bombs were planted inside seven flights related to the Kolkata airport,” said NSCBI airport Director Dr. Pravat Ranjan Beuria.

Specific routes affected include Goa to Vadodara, Agartala to Guwahati, and Kolkata to Ahmedabad.

The sheer scale of these threats is remarkable, with over 500 aircraft impacted in recent weeks.

Even more alarming, a live ammunition round was discovered on an Air India flight from Dubai to Delhi, highlighting the very real danger passengers faced.

This blatant security breach resulted in formal charges under India’s Arms Act, but serious questions remain about how such a dangerous item made it onboard in the first place.

Airlines have taken a huge economic blow, with hundreds of flights disrupted or grounded entirely.

While many threats have proven to be hoaxes, the discovery of live ammunition shows the danger is all too real.

Air India claims to prioritize passenger safety, but their failure to prevent such a serious breach tells a different story.

The Indian government’s response has been woefully inadequate. Its vague promises of “security and legislative changes” offer little comfort to travelers who are putting their lives at risk.

The IT Ministry has merely “urged” social media platforms to remove threatening content rather than swiftly and decisively shutting down these accounts immediately.
