(TheConservativeTimes.org) – OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, has just announced that they will be launching a brand new AI model called GPT-4o.
The model would be able to have a realistic conversation and communicate across text and images. New audio capabilities added to the system will allow users to speak to ChatGPT and get real-time responses from the model. They even integrated responses and conversational techniques for when the AI is interrupted in said conversation.
Said Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, “It feels like AI from the movies … Talking to a computer has never felt really natural for me; now it does.”
OpenAI is experiencing a lot more competition as the demand for artificial intelligence is growing. ChatGPT wowed many upon its launch as it was one of the first AI models to produce human-like content.
OpenAI did a livestream event that showcased the new features of their newest AI model. They showed the new voice assistant capabilities as well as vision and voice capabilities. They showed everything in real-time, allowing those viewing to truly get an idea of the experience and capabilities of the model.
In the demonstration, an OpenAI researcher told the chatbot that he was “in a good mood because he was demonstrating how useful you are” to which the chatbot responded “Oh stop it! You’re making me blush!”
Mira Murati, OpenAI’s chief technology officer, said that the new model would be offered for free to users because this software is more cost-effective than their other launches. However, those who choose to pay will have more features available to them than those who are using the free version.
