Opioid Deaths SOAR – Disparity GROWS!?

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Adding a new entry to a long list of failures, the Biden-Harris administration’s so-called “war on drugs” has crashed and burned, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

Now, the government is pushing for more taxpayer-funded programs to address racial issues in drug overdose deaths.

According to recent CDC data, overdose death rates have skyrocketed among Black Americans (44% increase) and American Indian/Alaska Native populations (39% increase) in just one year.

Meanwhile, rates among white Americans have begun to stabilize. The CDC claims that “income inequality and other social determinants” are to blame for higher overdose rates among minority communities.

Instead of acknowledging root causes, the Biden-Harris administration is doubling down on failed “harm reduction” strategies.

The administration is pushing to expand access to naloxone, fentanyl test strips and even “syringe services programs” – in other words, government-funded drug tools.

This approach sends the wrong message and enables destructive behavior rather than addressing the underlying issues.

The left’s obsession with identity politics is evident in their proposed solutions. They have called for “culturally responsive actions” and “tailored prevention efforts” for racial and ethnic minority groups.

However, this divisive approach ignores the fact that addiction does not discriminate based on race.

It is a human problem that requires personal responsibility and community support, not more government handouts.

Even more concerning is the push to reduce the “criminalization of substance use disorders.”

This soft-on-crime approach has already led to disastrous consequences in liberal-run cities, where open-air drug markets flourish and law-abiding citizens live in fear.

The left’s narrative paints minority communities as helpless victims of circumstance, unable to navigate “predominantly white institutions” or access treatment.

This condescending attitude has been criticized for doing nothing to empower individuals to overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
