(TheConservativeTimes.org) – In a shocking revelation, Amazon has recalled over 7,000 faulty products due to potential electric shock and fire risks.

Initiated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), this recall exposes yet another instance of consumer safety being jeopardized.

As winter grips much of the nation, hardworking Americans now face the added burden of dealing with dangerous heating devices in their homes.

The recall affects Vornado Air VH2 Whole Room Heaters sold exclusively on Amazon between August and October 2024.

Manufactured in Andover, Kansas, these devices were labeled as reliable heating solutions for American households.

However, a critical flaw in their design has turned them into potential fire hazards, putting families at risk.

The CPSC stated, “The power cord can partially detach from the heater enclosure, which can lead to cord damage over time, posing electric shock and fire hazards.”

This alarming situation raises questions about the quality control measures in place for products sold on major platforms like Amazon.

It also highlights the ongoing struggle to protect American consumers from potentially dangerous goods flooding the markets.

Thankfully, no incidents or injuries have been reported yet. Consumers who bought these heaters can identify them by specific characteristics.

The recalled units have a date code of “JUL24” or “AUG24,” “TYPE VH2” on the label, and are off-white in color.

They also feature a thermostatic control, two heat settings, and automatic/continuous fan operation, with a “Vornado” logo sporting a red “V.”

The CPSC advises, “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heaters and contact Vornado for a free replacement heater.”

As winter continues, it is crucial for Americans to be vigilant about the safety of their heating devices.

Common space heater hazards include accidental fires, carbon monoxide poisoning, and electric shock.

To ensure safety, keep heaters away from flammable materials, avoid using extension cords, ensure proper ventilation, and never leave heaters unattended.

This recall is a wake-up call for both consumers and manufacturers. It underscores the need for continued vigilance in product safety and the importance of ensuring safety over profit margins.

Owners of the recalled Vornado VH2 Whole Room Heaters should contact Vornado immediately for a replacement.

They can reach out via email, phone or through the company’s website for recall instructions.
