(TheConservativeTimes.org) – The new CEO of Starbucks, Brian Niccol, has visited over seventeen thousand stores as he takes on his new role. In his rounds, as he visited the stores he found a “shared sense that we have drifted from our core.”
Niccol, who was formerly CEO of Chipotle, said that he would work on establishing Starbucks as the “community coffeehouse.” This has shifted for the business since going through the pandemic and filling more mobile to go orders.
Niccol stepped into the role after Laxman Narasimhan held it for eighteen months during a period where the company battled low sales, declining stock price, and a fading popularity for the business.
Niccol stated, “In some places — especially in the U.S. — we aren’t always delivering.”
He continued, “It can feel transactional, menus can feel overwhelming, the product is inconsistent, the wait too long or the handoff too hectic. These moments are opportunities for us to do better.”
An analyst spoke out about Starbucks and the changes that have taken place. “There is a very clear recognition that Starbucks has strayed from its core purpose and is not satisfying customers in the way it once did. Brian Niccol wants to remedy those issues and go back to the ‘good old days’ of Starbucks. Of course, saying this is easier than doing this,” the analyst said.
There has been a lot of excitement and support for the addition of Niccol to the Starbucks family. He’s helped to improve Taco Bell’s image and he has turned things around for Chipotle in his time there as well.
The agreement he has with Starbucks allows him to travel over a thousand miles away from his home in California to the company’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington at least three days a week. Niccol seems to have a plan and is starting off by examining the current state of Starbucks.
