Supreme Court Rules Razor Wire to Be Removed From Border

( – A decision was finally made in the Supreme Court deliberation regarding the removal or continuation of the razor wire that was installed at the border by the state of Texas.

The Supreme Court reached a decision on Monday and decided to side with the Biden Administration on the removal of the razor wire that was installed. The state of Texas made the decision to put the razor wire on top of the border wall in order to keep the aid in border control and keep people out. However, the Biden Administration pushed for the removal of this razor wire and the Supreme Court was back and forth on a decision up until this Monday.

In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court reached a verdict to remove the razor wire that was put on top of the fencing. The fencing was deemed as “dangerous and inhumane” by administration officials and immigration advocates.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the razor wire installed by Texas interferes with safe and effective federal border control.

Texas officials are not happy with the decision and many have spoken out about the removal of their razor wire. Gov. Greg Abbott from Texas spoke out saying that he would not allow them to continue “destroying our property.”

“This is not over,” began Abbot in a post on X, formerly Twitter, “Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property,”

Other Texas officials such as Lt. Chris Olivarez from The Texas Department of Public Safety stepped in as well, saying, “The State of Texas, under Gov. @GregAbbott_TX’s Operation Lone Star, will maintain its current posture in deterring illegal border crossings by utilizing effective border security measures – reinforced concertina wire & anti-climb barriers along the Rio Grande.”

The Biden Administration has presented the argument that the razor wire prevents them from being able to properly control the border and that it would prevent officials from being able to respond to emergency situations.

This is not the first dispute we’ve seen concerning Texas and the Biden Administration with regard to the border, and it may not be the last.
