(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Unsuspecting residents were left in shock when a DHL cargo plane crashed at their home near Vilnius, Lithuania.
Watch the video down below.
Spanish carrier Swiftair operated the Boeing 737 aircraft, which fell into a residential area, killing one crew member and critically injuring others.
The tragic event unfolded as DHL Flight 18D approached Vilnius International Airport from Leipzig, Germany.
The aircraft carried four crew members when it crashed less than a mile from the runway, turning into a fireball that consumed a nearby house.
Miraculously, no residents were harmed, though 12 people were evacuated from the building.
Lithuania’s Counter-intelligence chief Darius Jauniskis expressed caution but did not rule out foul play.
He stated, “We cannot reject the possibility of terrorism…But at the moment we can’t…point fingers, because we don’t have such information.”
The crash comes in the wake of troubling incidents involving DHL’s operations.
The company’s Leipzig facility has previously experienced fires caused by incendiary devices, which Polish prosecutors suggest were tests for potential sabotage.
This pattern of events has raised red flags among security experts, who fear a coordinated effort to disrupt Western supply chains.
Adding to the concern, Western security officials have previously accused Russian agents of plotting to ignite fires on planes.
The Kremlin has denied these allegations, but the timing and location of this crash – in a NATO member state bordering Russia – have only intensified speculation.
While DHL referred to the incident as a “forced landing,” the devastation at the crash site tells a different story.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, rescuing three victims and recovering one dead individual.
The two surviving crew members are currently fighting for their lives while receiving treatment at the Republic Vilnius University Hospital.
Investigators are considering several angles, including technical failure, human error and the possibility of a terrorist act.
The Boeing 737’s age has also come under scrutiny as it has been in operation for 31 years, though experts note that such older airframes are common in cargo operations.
