Trump Advisors Have Phones Seized as Part of J6 Investigation

( – Federal investigators have reportedly seized the phones of advisors to former President Donald Trump. The seizure of the phones is part of a larger investigation into the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021, and whether the former president can be held criminally responsible for inciting the riot.

The news comes as Special Counsel Jack Smith recently handed Trump another letter informing him that he was a target of a federal investigation into the matter. Trump also received a target letter from the special counsel shortly before the Department of Justice indicted him on 37 felony counts related to the mishandling of classified documents.

In a statement, Trump called Jack Smith “deranged” and said that he had been given four days to report to the grand jury, which according to him, “almost always” leads to a criminal indictment.

Trump has regularly accused Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland of using the law as a means of political persecution against him. Even Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, condemned the investigations, accusing the Biden administration of trying to persecute its chief opponent heading into the 2024 election.

The phone of Boris Epshteyn, a lawyer who reportedly serves as in-house counsel to help the former president with his legal defense, was seized. Trump campaign strategist Mike Rowan, who served as director of Election Day operations in 2020, also had his phone taken by authorities.

Jeffrey Clark, a former Trump Department of Justice official, also had his Virginia suburban home raided by federal authorities and had his electronic devices confiscated. This came as part of a separate investigation into his alleged efforts to create fake slates of pro-Trump electors in key states that President Joe Biden won.

Trump also faces federal charges from his first indictment in New York, which came from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who has charged him with numerous felony counts related to falsifying business records, usually misdemeanor charges.
