Trump Claims to Scrap Taxes on Overtime if Re-elected

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Donald Trump, former president and Republican presidential nominee, has promised to take away all taxes on overtime if re-elected.

Donald Trump was speaking to voters in Tucson, Arizona when he spoke about the plan to eliminate taxes on work that goes beyond forty hours per week. This would give people more incentive to work and make it easier for businesses to hire as well.

Said Trump, “The people who work overtime are among the hardest-working citizens in our country. And for too long, no one in Washington has been looking out for them. Those are the people, they really work.”

He continued, “They’re police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers and machine operators. It’s time for the working man and woman to finally catch a break and that’s what we are doing because this is a good one.”

This is another pledge he has made saying he would make “gigantic” cuts to taxes. He’s also promised to extend the income tax cuts, eliminate taxes on tips, end taxes on social security, and lower the corporate tax rate to fifteen percent.

The former president didn’t give many details on how he would do this, and many experts have said that this would likely add to the thirty-five trillion dollars in national debt.

Harris has also spoken out about lowering taxes for the working and middle-class, including twenty five thousand dollars in tax credit for first time homebuyers and a fifty thousand dollar tax deduction for new small businesses. She’s also said that she’d put in place a six thousand dollar child tax credit as well.

It’s unknown what these presidential nominees will be able to do if elected, but both candidates are making promises around the cutting of taxes.
