(TheConservativeTimes.org) – President Donald Trump has once again proven he remains fully committed to the American people by declaring a state of emergency in Kentucky.
This decisive action comes in response to devastating floods that have killed at least eight people, showcasing the president’s leadership in times of crisis.
The flooding in Kentucky has wreaked havoc across the state, resulting in over 1,000 rescues performed by emergency teams.
This natural disaster has left more than 39,000 customers without power, 9,800 without water, and 21,000 under a boil water advisory.
The severity of the situation demanded immediate federal intervention, which President Trump quickly delivered.
His emergency declaration will make federal funding available to all 120 counties in Kentucky, covering 75% of emergency protective measures.
This crucial support will enable local authorities to save lives, protect property, and safeguard public health and safety.
The president’s swift action demonstrates his America First agenda in action, prioritizing the needs of American citizens in times of crisis.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been authorized to mobilize equipment and resources to ease the impact of the emergency.
Jeremy Slinker has been appointed as the Federal Coordinating Officer for FEMA’s response in Kentucky.
Even Democrat Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear had to acknowledge the president’s swift action.
“Thank you, President Trump, for approving my request for an emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky,” Beshear said.
“Now federal funding is available to impacted areas, helping us better respond and support affected Kentuckians,” he added.
The governor continued:
“The difference between the 2022 flooding and this, is this hit the whole state. We have flooding in Western Kentucky, we have flooding in Eastern Kentucky. So when we ultimately look at the overall damage caused, it might be more comparable in the end than we think.”
The situation in Kentucky remains dire, with flood warnings still in effect and additional winter weather advisories predicting snow and heavy winds.
The Trump administration’s proactive approach ensures that federal resources will be available to help Kentuckians weather this storm and begin the recovery process.
Thank you President Trump for approving an emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky. We’re dealing with significant flooding across Kentucky, especially in the eastern part of the state. My staff is in communication with local officials and stands ready to assist. Also, a…
