Trump Derangement Syndrome Will Be Codified in Law?!

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – In a groundbreaking move, Minnesota Republican lawmakers have proposed legislation that would officially classify “Trump Derangement Syndrome” as a mental illness.

A group of five Minnesota Senate Republicans authored the bill that would add Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) to the state’s legal definitions of mental illness.

Senators Eric Lucero, Steve Drazkowski, Nathan Wesenberg, Justin Eichorn, and Glenn Gruenhagen introduced the legislation, bringing attention to a phenomenon Trump supporters have observed for years.

The bill defines TDS as the “acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons” that occurs “in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump.”

It further explains that symptoms include “Trump-induced general hysteria, which produces an inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trump’s behavior.”

According to the lawmakers, the inspiration for the bill came from Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk, who has repeatedly acknowledged the reality of TDS.

The concept itself is not new. Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer originally coined a similar term, “Bush Derangement Syndrome,” in 2003 to describe the irrational hatred some liberals directed toward President George W. Bush.

Predictably, Democrats have reacted with outrage. Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy condemned the proposal as “wasteful, frivolous and shameful,” claiming it trivializes mental health issues and somehow attacks free speech.

Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson acknowledged the bill has a “tongue in cheek” element but used the opportunity to criticize Democrats’ obsession with President Trump at the expense of addressing real problems facing Minnesotans.

“Senate Republicans have always supported mental health funding, trying to make sure that there are resources available for that,” Johnson noted.

Since Democrats control the Minnesota Senate and a tied House requires bipartisan support, the bill faces an uphill battle for passage.

However, the proposal has already succeeded in sparking important conversations about how unhinged hatred of President Trump has disrupted rational political debate nationwide.

For years, conservatives have witnessed liberal politicians, media figures, and everyday Americans displaying symptoms of TDS – from baseless Russia collusion theories to hysterical predictions about fascism that never materialized.

The Minnesota bill makes a powerful point: when political disagreement becomes pathological obsession, perhaps it should be recognized for what it truly is.

While “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is not currently recognized in any official diagnostic manual, many Americans have witnessed its effects firsthand.
