(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Despite the left’s underhanded attempts, the will of the American people has prevailed as the U.S. Appeals Court tossed out the classified documents case against President-elect Donald Trump.
This decision exposed the weakness of the Democrats’ relentless witch hunt and vindicated Trump’s stance against what he calls a “political hijacking.”
The dismissal of this case marks a significant victory for Trump and a crushing blow to the left’s attempts to undermine his leadership.
The Appeals Court’s decision to drop the last federal criminal case against Trump proves the charges were baseless and politically driven.
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, appointed by the Biden-Harris administration, requested the dismissal himself.
He cited the Department of Justice’s inability to prosecute a sitting president, revealing the true nature of these charges: a clear attempt to prevent Trump from reclaiming the White House.
President Trump, who has consistently maintained his innocence, pleaded not guilty to both the classified documents case and a separate election-related case.
“These cases, like all of the other cases I have been forced to go through, are empty and lawless, and should never have been brought,” Trump stated.
He added, “It was a political hijacking, and a low point in the History of our Country that such a thing could have happened, and yet, I persevered, against all odds, and WON.”
Back in July, the Supreme Court ruled that a former president cannot be prosecuted for “official acts” taken while in office.
This decision has been seen as a way to shield the executive branch from politically motivated prosecutions.
It also ensures that future presidents can govern without fear of retribution from their opponents.
It is worth noting that most charges against Trump have been dropped. The only remaining case is a Georgia case that is currently paused.
Previously, Judge Aileen Cannon had dismissed the classified documents case, which involved accusations of storing sensitive files at Mar-a-Lago and obstructing retrieval efforts.
She ruled that Smith was improperly appointed, dealing another blow to the credibility of the prosecution’s case.
