(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Donald Trump has an idea for an abortion compromise that would make everyone happy, or at least wouldn’t make anyone unhappy. Many officials have found themselves in the middle when it comes to the abortion ban and it’s separated Republicans from Democrats.
Trump’s surprising compromise may work out in his favor though. Donald Trump’s idea is that the states should decide what kind of laws to place around abortion. He said that some states would have looser rules while others would have stricter rules but that state officials, residents, and lawmakers should establish their own boundaries for abortion in each state.
Trump was president for the overturning of Roe v Wade and he, most of the time, will take credit for it, which is why his opinion on this is surprising. “Many states will be different, many will have a different number of weeks or some will have more conservative than others, and that’s what they will be,” said Trump essentially giving it up to the state’s choice, “At the end of the day, this is all about the will of the people.”
Biden had plenty to say in response as he stated that there has been no support to overturn Roe v Wade. “Trump is simply lying. There was no groundswell of support in America for overturning Roe. In fact, support for Roe is higher today in America than it has ever been,” Biden said.
Biden says that Trump is scrambling to gain favor with people by saying that he didn’t help to overturn Roe v Wade, and placing the onus on the states is his way of covering that up because he’s simply just trying to win.
Many have criticized Biden’s response to this in comparison to Trump because Biden won’t step foot in front of a camera. Many have said that his “statements” don’t hold enough punch compared to Trump’s videos or campaign speeches.
