(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to talk about AI development and partnership opportunities.
Mark Zuckerberg has been pushing AI advancement recently and he’s just met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to talk about ways to explore cooperation with the United States and South Korea in “AI and digital ecosystems.” This is just one stop on Zuckerberg’s list as he looks to travel and talk to political leaders all over the world about AI and collaboration on technology.
President Yoon seemed optimistic about working with Meta and said that smart home features, smart cars, and smart home appliances are a great place to put Meta’s technology. He also spoke about his excitement regarding the potential of working on XR (extended reality) headsets and the Metaverse. Yoon also pushed for Meta to take an active role in tackling misinformation among elections on their platform.
Sung-Tae Yoon, the President’s policy chief said, “The two discussed the vision for creating open AI and digital ecosystems and how to strengthen cooperation between Meta and our companies. The president said that the Korean industry is ready to actively support what Meta has imagined and designed.”
Meta has big plans for this year as Mark Zuckerberg has mentioned ideas such as an AI chip, expansions on Metaverse, and expanding their AI capabilities across their platforms and devices.
Meta’s interest in South Korea as an AI partner is no surprise as the country is looking to invest in text data for large language models, AI technology, and computing resources. South Korea is also holding an Artificial Intelligence Safety Summit that’s scheduled to take place in May.
