President Donald Trump’s decisive military action against Iran’s nuclear threat has triggered warnings of potential terrorist retaliation on American soil.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an urgent bulletin revealing that Iranian-backed terrorists could target U.S. citizens in the next three months.
The massive U.S. military operation, code-named “Operation Midnight Hammer,” deployed over 125 warplanes, submarines, and surface warships in a coordinated assault against three Iranian nuclear facilities.
American B-2 bombers delivered bunker-buster bombs designed to penetrate and destroy hardened underground sites where Iran has been developing nuclear weapons despite international sanctions.
Following the strikes, DHS immediately activated its National Terrorism Advisory System, warning of a “heightened threat environment” that could last for months.
The bulletin specifically cautions about the potential for low-level cyber attacks by pro-Iranian hacktivists and more serious threats from Iranian government-affiliated cyber actors who have repeatedly targeted American infrastructure.
“The likelihood of violent extremists in the Homeland independently mobilizing to violence in response to the conflict would likely increase if Iranian leadership issued a religious ruling calling for retaliatory violence against targets in the Homeland,” DHS said.
This latest threat comes after U.S. law enforcement has already disrupted multiple Iranian-backed plots within American borders since 2020.
Intelligence officials report that Iran has maintained a consistent commitment to targeting American officials.
New York City has already deployed additional law enforcement resources to sensitive sites.
The NYPD is coordinating with federal partners, and Governor Kathy Hochul has increased security measures at MTA and Port Authority facilities.
Despite the mainstream media’s claims that “We are now at war with Iran,” security experts note that President Trump’s targeted strikes were specifically designed to eliminate the nuclear threat without initiating full-scale conflict.
President Trump had issued stern warnings to Iran about possible retaliation before ordering the strikes.
The operation followed Iran’s earlier vow to retaliate if America joined Israel’s efforts to neutralize the Iranian nuclear threat.
The Israel-Iran conflict, which escalated on June 13, has already resulted in significant casualties on both sides.
The current situation underscores American leadership’s challenging reality: confronting dangerous rogue regimes.
As the threat assessment continues to evolve, Americans across the country are reminded to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity to local authorities.
