At a time when bombshell new evidence about his evident physical and mental decline has been unveiled, Joe Biden has come forward with new details about his cancer diagnosis.
The 82-year-old made his first public comments about his prostate cancer diagnosis during a Memorial Day appearance in Delaware.
There, he attempted to assure Americans about his health while simultaneously revealing troubling details about his treatment plan.
Biden, who was forced out of his re-election bid in July 2024 after a disastrous debate performance against President Donald Trump, told reporters that his cancer is aggressive but claimed doctors are optimistic about his prognosis.
“The expectation is we’re going to be able to beat this, I’m feeling good,” Biden said, before describing his treatment plan.
“It’s all a matter of taking one particular pill for the next six weeks and then another one. It’s not in any organ, my bones are strong, so I’m feeling good,” he added.
Biden’s appearance comes amid renewed scrutiny of his mental and physical capabilities following the release of “Original Sin.”
The book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson details how Biden’s inner circle, particularly Jill Biden, covered up his declining cognitive state during his time in the White House.
When questioned about these concerns, Biden made a bizarre attempt at sarcasm, saying, “You can see that I’m mentally incompetent and I can’t walk.”
He then challenged Democrats who questioned his fitness for office, asking, “Why didn’t they run against me then? Because I’d have beaten them.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has called for Jill Biden to answer questions about her husband’s mental state.
“Frankly, the former first lady should certainly speak up about what we saw in regard to her husband and when she saw it and what she knew,” Leavitt stated.
The White House and the Bidens have firmly denied claims that they concealed his cognitive decline, despite mounting evidence to the contrary.
Biden’s cancer revelation is just the latest health concern for the embattled Democrat.
His disastrous debate performance last summer, where he appeared confused and disoriented, ultimately forced Democrat Party leaders to push him out of the presidential race after polls showed him losing badly to PresidentTrump.
During the Memorial Day service, Biden also paid tribute to his late son Beau, who died of brain cancer.
“This day is the 10th anniversary of the loss of my son Beau, who spent a year in Iraq. And to be honest, it’s a hard day,” Biden expressed.
Despite claiming to feel good, Biden’s comments about his treatment raise concerns. He also stated he is working with a leading surgeon who had the same diagnosis 32 years ago.
