The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an urgent recall for Concord 360 Degree Rechargeable Light-Up Bike Helmets sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online.

The helmets, sold for approximately $30 each between January and September 2025, fail to meet the federal mandatory standards under 16 CFR Part 1203.

Specifically, the retention system with straps and an adjustment knob, along with positional stability features, does not perform as required to keep the helmet secured during impact.

Massachusetts-based Todson, Inc. distributed these helmets through Walmart’s massive retail network, reaching approximately 40,000 American families who trusted the retailer’s product vetting.

This recall follows a troubling pattern of substandard imports entering the U.S. market through mass retailers prioritizing low prices over rigorous safety compliance.

The CPSC has previously recalled similar non-compliant children’s helmets sold at Walmart, and recent months have seen additional bicycle product recalls from Trek and other brands, signaling systemic quality control failures across the cycling industry.
