Elon Musk Looks to Cut 14,000 Jobs for Tesla?!

(TheConservativeTimes.org) – Tesla has just announced that they will be laying off thousands of employees, which will account for about ten percent of their entire workforce. Elon Musk seems to be reacting to the slowing demand and also pressure when it comes to pricing.

Elon Musk stated that there have been duplicates of job roles since the company has grown so immensely and he’s made “the difficult decision” which would help to cut down on the job force. “There is nothing I hate more, but it must be done. This will enable us to be lean, innovative, and hungry for the next growth phase cycle,” he wrote.

In the first quarter of this year, Elon Musk said that Tesla had missed the mark on their expected sales and revenue, which set them back. The company, Tesla, said that the production problems happened because of the attacks on ships in the Red Sea and also there has been a drop in the global demand for electric vehicles.

Matthias Schmidt, an automotive analyst, said that these layoffs show “the slowing pace of growth of an electric car market, which it appears Tesla isn’t immune from”. Tesla stated that the Chinese electric vehicle company BYD also had a slower quarter so it was a slow quarter “for everyone.”

Musk expressed his view of the future with a comment on X, “About every five years, we need to reorganize and streamline the company for the next phase of growth.”

The demand for electric vehicles isn’t as high as people expected and therefore these layoffs will be common in the industry. Another company that’s taken a step into laying off employees is BP, which cut jobs from its workforce in its electric vehicle charging business.

We don’t know what these cuts can mean for the future or if the demand for EVs will bump back up again, but these layoffs might start becoming more common as other companies follow suit.
