(TheConservativeTimes.org) – A surprising claim by Reps. James Comer (R-KY), Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said that a whistleblower has directed them to a document in the possession of the FBI and the Justice Department.
Rep. Comer issued a subpoena on May 3, 2023, following the whistleblower’s protected revelations to Rep. Grassley’s office. The purported document is an unclassified FD-1023 file that is produced by the FBI when interviewing a witness to a potential crime. The document is said to outline the arrangement in detail and was either “Created or modified in June 2020.”
Reps. Grassley and Comer included a letter with the subpoena written to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The Reps. said the document sheds light on an alleged transaction between “then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national” meant to pay for favorable policy decisions.
In the letter, the two representatives say the whistleblower claimed the document precisely details “how the alleged criminal scheme was employed, as well as its purpose,” and that the whistleblower is a “highly credible” source.
“The DOJ and the FBI appear to have valuable, verifiable information that you have failed to disclose to the American people,” Reps. Comer and Grassley said in the letter. “Therefore, Congress will proceed to conduct an independent and objective review of this matter, free from those agencies’ influence.”
The FBI will have until May 10th to produce the document to the committee. A spokesman for the FBI and another for the Department of Justice acknowledged receipt of the subpoena and the included letter from Reps. Grassley and Comer but both declined to comment further.
This most recent subpoena is only the latest in a list that has been growing more rapidly with details of then-vice president Biden and his family members’ business dealings with a growing number of allegations about ties to foreign nationals and international corporations.
Rep. James Comer said on his official Twitter feed that “The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the U.S. to make money for himself.”
